So You've Bought Item Upgrading ... Now What?

Upgrades to items allow players to boost an item's gear score up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of their base. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their effectiveness. This will increase the defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you will gain from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce an immediate effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu.  upgrade item  will open an GUI which allows you to select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you take it out again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be traded at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the old one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Once the old Trinkets have become not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they will not be replacing soon (for instance an earring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade players should also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.

When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying a new one.
